still unknown is a catalogue of open questions: things humanity does not know yet. Each page is devoted to one question and tries to show honestly where the edge of knowledge lies — what is established, what is only proposed, and what nobody knows.

The questions are connected. On the home page they form a map of the unknown, drawn as a night sky: every star is a question, every line a link between two of them. When a question is answered, it leaves the sky and moves to Recently closed.

How a page is built

Every question has the same sections: the question in plain words, what we know, the main hypotheses, where understanding ends, what would settle it, and sources. The section “Where understanding ends” is the heart of each page.

Proximity

The thin line under each title shows how close an answer seems. It is an editorial estimate, not a measurement, and reasonable people would disagree with it.

Who writes it

The texts are written by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, and edited by people. Mistakes are possible — in facts, in emphasis, in sources. If you find one, please write to [email protected].
